The Russian war against Ukraine turns people’s lives into survival. Civilians on the territories neighboring the hot spots in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions do not always have access to drinking water.
The aggressor bomb infrastructure on these territories: treatment and pumping stations are either destroyed or do not have electricity. Thus, it is vital for the Foundation to provide efficient systems that can filter water from rivers, lakes etc. as well as work with no electricity.
With the support of Concern WILO SE, the German manufacturer of pumping equipment, the Foundation provides 30 filter devices for the regions. These are called PAUL – simple, lightweight and mobile water filters in a backpack. Carried by one person, PAUL filters at least 1,200 liters of water each day and can thus supply 400 people with 3 liters daily.
21 PAULs will go to the State Emergency Service of the Donetsk region and 9 – to the State Emergency Service of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The rescuers will run over territories affected by the war and provide people with drinking water. Later, the water backpacks will be given to Points of Invincibility.
