Support for family-based care is a constant priority for the Olena Zelenska Foundation. As part of this effort, all large foster families in Kirovohrad region have now received the necessary support.
Seventy-nine families raising more than 500 children are receiving assistance. Among them are five families who were forced to leave their homes and are now rebuilding their lives in new communities. The total value of the aid exceeded UAH 7 million.
“It is essential to us that every child be able to grow up in a loving family and in decent, comfortable conditions. Supporting large foster families is our commitment to helping foster parents create a space where children feel protected,” said Viktoriia Romanova, Director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
The Foundation team tailored the assistance to the individual needs of each family to make daily life easier and ensure accessible, modern education for children. A total of 453 items — including equipment, gadgets, and furniture — were delivered. These included educational devices for continuous learning, such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones, as well as household appliances essential for large families. To ensure energy resilience at home, families also received charging stations, generators, and power banks. Special attention was given to comfort, with new furniture for children’s rooms and large dining tables for the whole family to gather around.
The supplies have already arrived in Kropyvnytskyi and will be delivered directly to families in the coming days. In response to individual requests, six additional families from Volyn, Ternopil, and Lviv regions received portable charging stations.
This stage of assistance became possible thanks to cooperation with the Czech company MND Group. We are sincerely grateful to UNHCR, the Latvian foundation Ziedot.lv, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy.
Since 2022, the Foundation has supported more than 600 large foster families across the country. The team continues its work to ensure that every family feels sustained support and stability.
