Goal

Expanding the School of Superheroes network in children’s hospitals by opening new educational centers and scaling up the initiative.

Results

In 2024, the Foundation funded the establishment of six new Schools of Superheroes in the cities of Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Odesa, Rivne, and Lviv. In 2025, the Foundation financed the creation of six additional educational centers in Lutsk, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Mukachevo, Ternopil, and Cherkasy. Currently, 23 educational centers operate in Ukraine across 17 regions, 12 of which were established with full funding from the Foundation. Since the establishment of the state institution, more than 40,000 children have studied at the Schools of Superheroes. In total, almost 500,000 lessons have been conducted.

About the Project

School of Superheroes is a state institution that ensures the right to education for young patients in children’s hospitals. The first educational center was opened in Kyiv in 2016 as part of an initiative of the Small Heart with Art non-profit organization.

A young child wearing a mask and hospital gown sits at a classroom desk with a tablet, smiling at a woman who is leaning in and talking to them. The room is colorful, with art on the walls and medical staff in the background.

In 2021, due to its proven effectiveness and strong public support, the School of Superheroes was designated a state institution and began operating under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine. This step enabled the initiative to scale nationwide.

In 2026, the Foundation plans to establish seven new educational spaces in the cities of Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kropyvnytskyi, Kharkiv, and Kyiv, allowing even more children to continue learning and feel supported during treatment.
