Over 5,000 teachers of the Zaporizhzhia region received laptops from HP and Microsoft with the assistance of the Olena Zelenska Foundation
Schools in the Zaporizhzhia region have been empty for more than a year. Due to constant shelling, it is impossible to organize a safe educational process. At least 61 schools were destroyed or partially damaged in the region.
In order to keep up with the school curriculum, even during the war, teachers continue the education process remotely. Teachers organize online classes and conduct lessons in bomb shelters. Some teachers even set up the improvised classrooms at home. Due to the lack of technical capabilities, not all teachers can organize the educational process. To improve working conditions, the Foundation provided laptops to teachers in Zaporizhzhia region, in particular, evacuated schools from Enerhodar, Tokmak, Hulyaipole, Berdyansk, as well as other towns and villages.
In total, the Foundation handed over 5,194 laptops from HP and Microsoft to schools in the Zaporizhzhia region. Teachers of more than 300 education institutions will return to the usual and convenient teaching format.
Previously, the Foundation has already handed over equipment for teachers in Luhansk, Kherson, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mykolaiv regions.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast is the 11th region equipped with laptops. This is part of the assistance package from HP and Microsoft, as partners of the Digital Assets for Ukraine project. It is the initiative of the Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education). In total, 38,856 Ukrainian teachers from 12 regions will receive laptops and software as part of the project.
