34 large foster families from two districts of Dnipropetrovsk region received the most essential items, household appliances, and building materials to improve their living conditions. The next batch of aid from Olena Zelenska Foundation was delivered to the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts. To support these families, funds were raised from the European Investment Bank and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The large foster families that received assistance are currently raising nearly 250 orphans and children deprived of parental care. Applications from the remaining 110 families registered in the region are currently being processed.
To provide the families with everything they needed, Olena Zelenska Foundation personally communicated with each family. Overall, based on the foster parents' requests, we provided building materials for repairs and insulation, solid fuel boilers for winter heating, refrigerators, washing and dishwashing machines, shower cabins, stoves with ovens, small kitchen appliances, bicycles, bed linen, and educational gadgets.
Over the year of the Foundation's work, every fourth large foster family in Ukraine has received assistance. The team continues to raise funds to help families from other Ukrainian regions.
Currently, there are 1,302 large foster families registered in Ukraine, which are raising over 9,000 children. Since February 24, 2022, 269 families have emigrated abroad, and another 134 families have relocated within the country.
