Residents of the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions, as well as the frontline areas of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia, have received 600 GALP infrared heaters. This is the humanitarian aid from Olena Zelenska Foundation, Portuguese oil and gas company GALP Energia S.A. and the municipality of the Portuguese city of Cascais.
Each region received 150 heaters, which will be used in heating points, shelters, and distributed among low-income families and families who were forced to leave their homes and are building a new life in a new place.
"In just a week, our country is entering the second winter war in a row. Last year, the aggressor was destroying our energy and infrastructure facilities. Therefore, raising funds to purchase generators and heaters was our top priority. We realize that this year we may face another challenging winter. Therefore, we are grateful to the mayor of the Portuguese resort town of Cascais, headed by Mayor Carlos Carreiras, as well as to the management of GALP company for providing heaters. Such concern from the Portuguese, who do not experience such frosts, and their desire to warm Ukrainians, is especially valuable to us," said Nina Horbachova, Director of Olena Zelenska Foundation.
Olena Zelenska Foundation also expresses gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Portuguese Republic, which facilitated the transfer of the humanitarian aid.
One of the Foundation's projects is to provide heating equipment and generators primarily for the de-occupied, frontline regions. The Foundation has already donated more than 500 generators, including industrial ones, to Kharkiv and Kherson regions, as well as thousands of heating devices.
