During their working visit, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the newly equipped classrooms. The establishment of the Superheroes School in Kryvyi Rih was fully funded by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
“Children in Kryvyi Rih hospitals face not only illnesses but also the harsh realities of war. For them, the "Superhero School" is more than just classrooms. It’s a place where they regain their childhood, hope, and support. I am truly glad to see the Superheroes School developing so actively, and I’m proud that my Foundation is part of this. I hope the support these children receive here will help them recover more quickly,” said Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine and founder of the Foundation.
The new School is fully equipped to ensure the comfort and education of the children. It includes two educational classrooms, a play area for preschoolers, a mental health office, a library, and all the necessary tools for the educational process, including tablets, interactive complexes, and essential school supplies.
“Today, we personally saw the results of our joint work with the Superheroes School team in Kryvyi Rih. This is the third center that was opened this year with our financial support. This is the third center opened this year with our financial support. Such achievements inspire us to do even more and to continue seeking donors to open more of these Schools in new cities,” emphasized Nina Horbachova, Director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
The renovation and equipping took over three months, but even during this time, teachers conducted both individual and group lessons. During this period, the children attended more than 1,200 lessons. The school's team now includes a headmaster, a primary school teacher, a caregiver, and a psychologist. With the start of the new school year a methodologist, and subject teachers will also join.
“The entire Superheroes School team had been eagerly awaiting the opening of this educational space. Now, a new 'star' has appeared on the map, which means that the young patients in the hospital have a space of childhood that cannot be taken away, even in a hospital setting. This is about education and development. We thank the Foundation for believing in our project and for giving us the opportunity to see happy superheroes in new classrooms,” said Nataliia Zhylynska, Director of the Superheroes School.
This year, the Foundation funded the creation of six new Superheroes Schools. The first three centers in Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, and Rivne are already opened and ready for the start of the new school year. Three more schools in Lviv, Odesa, and Poltava will be opened soon.
